Schedule of Danjiri Matsuri of Kishiwada

Danjiri Matsuri of Kishiwada is passed for two days, when Saturday and Sunday just before the Respect for the aged Day. In the old days, this festival was held September 14 and 15, however because the number of spectator of the festival decrease and introduced Happy Monday system, the dates was changed that days. On first day, from 6:00 to 7:30 “Hiki-dashi” that is opening of the Danjiri Matsuri was performed. This event is 34 Danjiri teams begin dash around street of Kishiwada at the sound of siren at 6:00. On the morning of the second day, “Miya-iri” is performed. This is the event that the 34 teams divide into three groups and go to worship at the three major Shinto Shrines in Kishiwada. On the evening of both days, Parade of lantern-lit danjiris which many people who take red lantern parade slowly on the street. Of course, period between these events performed some good events.
